VIN Inspection Appointments

Operators who are bringing vehicles to the VIN Station for an inspection are required to line-up their vehicles within the clearly marked area designated for this purpose that is located along the south curb of West Fountain St., and patiently await further instructions from a VIN Inspector, prior to driving into the garage for service.

TO OBTAIN A VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION NUMBER INSPECTION YOU MUST HAVE THE FOLLOWING:

• The vehicle
• A title is needed for a VIN check. If you own the vehicle, bring the original title. If there is a lien on the vehicle, bring a photocopy of the title.
• $15 Money Order Only made payable to “City of Providence”
  There are no exceptions to the requirements above.
• A print out of your receipt confirming your appointment.
• the person bringing the vehicle in for the inspection should be the person listed on the appointment sheet.
